Fulbourn, United Kingdom Health Education England Full time

The role of Training Programme Directors for Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity is to work with and support the the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity strategy that has been developed and consulted on during a time of flux within both HEE and the NHS.

This strategy has been developed with a focus around Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, to ensure that plans are in place to deliver on Health Education England national commitments in years to come.

There are two TPD roles available, 4 sessions each.

The key to delivery over the coming years is creating a clear collaboration with NHSE/I which is aimed to involve into a true merger of EDI workstreams. This provides great opportunities for linking EDI work across all healthcare professions in all NHS organisations in the region, sharing both resource and best practice.

The role of the EDI TPD’s is to assist with the updating and adapting of the strategy as the structure of organisations change. For now it retains its focus on postgraduate medical and dental education - but the ambition is that there will be progressive alignment of EDI interventions such that this evolves into a truly multidisciplinary strategy.

HEE provides leadership for the education and training system. It ensures that the shape and skills of the future health and public health workforce evolve to sustain high quality outcomes for patients in the face of demographic and technological change. HEE ensures that the workforce has the right skills, behaviours and training, and is available in the right numbers, to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and drive improvements through supporting healthcare providers and clinicians to take greater responsibility for planning and commissioning education and training.

Our ambition is to be the best organisation of our type in the world by living our values every day.

Our Core Values are that everyone feels valued and respected and are included and involved in everything that affects them; are trusted to make decisions with clear reasons in order to be empowered to deliver; are committed to clear, effective communication, which is transparent and open when sharing information; takes pride and has integrity in everything we do and recognises that everyone has a significant contribution whilst taking personal responsibility and accountability for actions and behaviours.

**This role will specifically focus on**:

- Being an active member of the HEE Inclusivity in Education group
- Participating in delivering the aims of that group as they evolve and
- change over time
- Participate in delivering the regional EDI strategy
- Promoting a positive culture towards diversity and inclusivity amongst
- all the health care workforce in the EOE
- The demands on TPDs are likely to vary at times and the guidance below should be interpreted flexibly
