Yard Supervisor and Telehandler Operator

Events Crew are a temporary infrastructure provider, specialising in events. We are a busy and diverse organisation who own an array of stock including fencing, barriers, generators, tower lights, ground protection mats, drinking water bowsers, accommodation, and welfare units and much more. We also own and operate a fleet of vehicles. We offer hire, sales, delivery, installation, de-rig and buy back on all elements. We service a wide range of events including loading and transporting over 150 lorry loads of equipment into Glastonbury festival from our yard in Henstridge.

We are looking for a Yard Supervisor and Telehandler Operator to ensure all equipment is checked in and out of the yard efficiently. This role involves leading a small team in the yard when equipment needs grading into different qualities ready for Event and Construction hire and sales. We pride ourselves on the quality of the equipment that we deliver.

Our busy team are seeking a logical thinking practical individual with telehandler experience who has an interest in supporting the business on a full-time basis in Henstridge.

**The role would involve, but is not limited to, the following**:

- Check incoming materials, equipment and supplies against delivery & collection notes and record the quality.
- Load and unload materials, goods etc from vehicles and transport them both internally and externally to the required location
- Responsible for minor maintenance checks on the plant. Checking oil, tyre pressures and fuel
- Responsible for securing the plant at the end of the day
- Enjoy working under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst maintaining strict safety standards.
- Able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
- Flexible and able to assist with different tasks when required
- Manage Keeping yards tidy with general housekeeping duties

**Essential Skills**:

- Capable Plant and Machinery Operator including Telehandlers and Forklifts
- Health and safety conscious and mindful of others in the yard
- Practical experience and are comfortable with working outdoors
- You must have a positive attitude and a willingness to work hard
- Able to communicate effectively and work well in a team
- Willingness to work extra hours during busy periods.
- Motivated and reliable
- Good verbal and written communicator
- Interested in learning about our business and the Events industry as well as the services that we offer.
- Full UK driving licence

**Desirable attributes**:

- Active and able to carry out manual handling tasks
- Previous experience and knowledge of equipment types we stock
- Polite and personable as this is a customer facing role
- Experience in yard work with a sound knowledge of stock control and most importantly a 'can-do' attitude.
- Motivated, highly organised person who enjoys a challenge
- Ability to take instruction as well as work on own initiative
- Recognised Telehandler operating qualification

**About you**

We are looking for someone reliable, proactive, with good communication skills. It is also important that you are highly organised and work well in a close team.

If you have Telehandler experience and have worked leading a yard or in agriculture previously then we especially want to hear from you. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to play a key role in managing up to 9 acres of yard space with precision and efficiency.

The role is bases on being Monday - Friday from 07:30 - 17:30 with overtime available in the summer season and the opportunity to expand to Saturday working.

Pay: £12.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 47.5 per week
