**Cherish Children’s Care has an exciting opportunity for Residential Children's Practitioner to join our team at our home in Ellel, Lancaster.**

The home that we are recruiting for supports **2**young people aged between 8 and 18 years*.

We are looking to recruit **Residential Children's Practitioners** who are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children. You will work alongside a team of staff in supporting our children and young people in their day to day life ensuring that that health and wellbeing needs are met and they feel safe and cared for whilst living with us.

**The shift pattern for this role is 8am-8pm (12 hour shifts) on a rota basis.**

**1 part time position and 2 full time positions are available**
- Hold a Level 3 NVQ Children or equivalent (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- To be self-motivated and task orientated.
- Can demonstrate confidence in liaising with Social Workers, Police, LADO and families.
- The characteristics and personality to handle challenging behaviour effectively and professionally.

**Driving is essential in this role so you will need to hold a Full UK License and have access to your own vehicle**

**The key duties of the role are**:

- To maintain a high quality of care and support which meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and cultural needs of children and young people within the care of the home.
- Be responsible for reporting regularly on each young person’s daily events at the residential home and always maintain all necessary information confidentially following the quality standards.
- To assist with the promotion of a safe and homely environment for all young people.
