**Elite Security Officer for Co op Stores in Exeter and the surrounding area**

**£12.55 per hour, 40 hours a week**

**Must drive and have access to own vehicle**

**Job Overview**
- Mitie has a great opportunity for a Retail Elite **Security** **Officer** to join the Team.
- Retail Elite **Security** Officers are **required** to cover various shift patterns as well as being flexible in **their** approach to working locations and potential changes to working patterns.

**Main Duties**
- The elite **security** **officer** will demonstrate **their** character as trustworthy, attentive, and approachable when welcoming clients and customers
- To always add a courteous greeting and excellent customer service
- As the first point of contact for all customers and clients, the elite **security** **officer** must be geographically aware of **their** local surroundings.
- You will be able to protect customers and colleagues from physical and verbal abuse, also deterring violence and public order offences
- Respond to any on site incidents and request for assistance from emergency services or Duty Manager if **required**:

- Reporting to the **Security** Operations Manager - they must record, report, and escalate all incidents using the process/system/technology as **required** throughout **their** shift.

Training
- Fully and satisfactorily complete all **required** competency training.
- To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
- Use technology to achieve objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.

**Security** and Health & Safety
- Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
- Stay alert to any threats or changes within the **work** environment in order to take the appropriate action to reduce the chance of disruption, loss or damage.
- Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears to become threatening.
- To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process.
- Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the Client.
- To call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all serious incidents.

**What we are looking for**
- The elite security officer will need to be a team player with an enthusiastic attitude.
- Able to work on their own initiative.
- Retail Security experience preferable.
- Flexible Approach to work to suit the business needs with an ability to work with different teams as required
- Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal.
- Capability in the use of technology
- An ambassador for great customer service
- It is important the Elite Security Officer is calm under pressure.
- Understand the Health and Safety at Work Act, relevant Criminal, Civil Law and Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
- Frontline Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License essential.
