We are recruiting for a creative Communications Assistant to take on a key role within our small Marketing and Communications department.

This is a varied, fast-paced role, and you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration in the department and provide copywriting and digital marketing support for the company’s internal and external communications activities for a range of audiences.

The role is based at Showsec’s head office, a short walk from the city centre of Leicester on the historic New Walk.

**What you will be doing**:

- Maintain accurate database records
- Oversee the staff communications platform and provide guidance and training on the platform for staff
- Managing and monitoring the company’s external social media platforms and ensure these are updated regularly. The role is on a rota for monitoring company social media channels during out-of-office hours
- Cataloguing and maintaining the digital asset library, including photographs and undertaking occasional site visits at events and venues to update such asset
- Supporting the day-to-day drafting, delivery and scheduling of communications activity
- Coordinating with stakeholders across the company to draft written content to reach diverse audiences across the company's external and internal digital channels
- Compiling, editing and distributing internal and external newsletters, and creation/editing of digital assets
- Drafting and editing press releases and articles for industry publications and award entries
- Support in tracking, measuring and reporting communications effectiveness

**What we need from you**:

- Strong organisational and administrative skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work to deadlines with mínimal supervision and to plan, multi-task and prioritise efficiently
- Good interpersonal skills, confidence and ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across all levels
- A proactive and inquisitive nature
- Excellent copywriting, proofreading and editing skills
- A creative flair to edit/create engaging visual content. Photography skills are advantageous
- Working knowledge of social media platforms
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential (especially Excel)
- Related education, qualifications or experience
