Here at Vertu Motors due to our recent expansion in the South West we have a unique opportunity to join our group risk team

We are looking for a Financial Auditor to join us. This role will be based in the South-West of England and will involve regular travel.

The Financial Auditors form part of the Group Risk Team which is a key control function providing assurance of compliance with financial and other policies & procedures to the Directors and Divisional management.

The Financial Auditors are based at home but visit our dealerships to perform much of the audit testing on-site. As the Group has recently expanded into the South-West of England, we are looking for a new member of the team to cover our dealerships in this area. This will involve regular travel.

**The primary responsibility of the Financial Auditor is to audit the dealership balance sheets and therefore an understanding of financial statements is essential.**

The team also conduct control reviews, fraud investigations and engage in issue resolution when areas of non-compliance are identified. The team is integral to the development of new policies, procedures and systems as the Group continues to grow.

The Financial Auditor role certainly offers variety by visiting lots of different sites working with different dealership Accountants and their teams, offers a real insight into the financial operations of a large scale Group, and from the current team’s feedback offers the promise of no two days the same

Key responsibilities

The Group Risk Team aim to audit at least 80% of all dealerships each year through on-site visits by the field team of Financial Auditors. This work includes:

- Balance sheet audits - a detailed review of the full balance sheet to verify that all policies have been correctly applied
- Payroll audits - verification of the payroll submissions made by the site
- Working capital audits - assessment of the site’s cash management, debt control and working capital disciplines
- Controls reviews - specific reviews focused on current key risks
- Providing support to the dealership management team post-audit

Skills required
- Financial acumen
- Understanding of financial statements
- Attention to detail
- Report writing (the results of all the work needs to be documented clearly & concisely for senior management review)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Inquisitive mindset

Applicant requirements
- Previous experience in accounts department, internal audit (financial) or external audit (financial)
- Motor trade experience preferred but not essential
- Keyloop experience preferred but not essential
