**About the Opportunity**

AXIOM is one of the DSA alliance partners and is an unincorporated Joint Venture (JV) made up of four major engineering contracting companies each with complementary capabilities and skills. The members have excellent nuclear pedigrees, demonstrated expertise and effective track records across the UK nuclear fleet and related nuclear industries.

AXIOM provides process, mechanical, civil structural and architectural, electrical, instrumentation, control and safety capabilities to support Sellafield Ltd.

As well as having a large, dedicated team working for Sellafield Ltd, each has immense reach-back capability into parent organisations for knowledge, expertise and innovations gained from within, and external to, the nuclear industry. Examples of other markets include Oil and Gas, Environment, Mining and Aerospace.

You will be joining a large existing team that clearly understands the different requirements for optioneering, solution inspired, design decommissioning, operating plant asset care, infrastructure and new builds.

A Radiological Safety Assessor is required to support the Front End Definition (FED) Team across a portfolio of projects within the Spent Fuel Management value stream. The role holder will integrate all nuclear safety case aspects where applicable to support FED and stages 1/2 of the SGP

**The role will typically involve the following**:

- Delivering the requirements of SLP 2.17.02 for projects in stages 1/2 of the Sellafield Gated Process (Feasibility and Appraise and Select)
- Support to optioneering studies
- Leading HAZOPs (typically HAZOP 0/1)
- Development and evaluation of Hazard Management Strategies for a range of options
- Production of Safety Case Summaries/ Confidence Statements as required
- Engagement with regulators
- Developing effective engagement relationships with the key stakeholders including & Other specialist assessment teams within S&RM

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Significant experience as Safety assessor (Sellafield SQEP 3 or equivalent)
- Experienced SQEP HAZOP chair
- Ability to access up to C2/R2 areas on plant for surveys, if required.
- Experience of support to projects in early stages (feasibility/ appraise and select)
- Experience of regulator engagement
- BPSS minimum, SC Preferred
