Edinburgh, United Kingdom ENODA Full time

**Description**:
We are looking for a specialist in government industrial policy, incentives and investment attraction to join our rapidly expanding team in London or at our HQ in Edinburgh.

As **Industrial Investment and Policy Officer**, you will play a crucial role in shaping ENODA’s ability to deliver our revolutionary hardware at scale. ENODA’s proprietary technology, the Enoda PRIME® Exchanger, is a drop in replacement for the distribution substation equipment in the electricity grid.

To service the exponential demand for GridTech, we are standing up our own manufacturing facilities to produce the device at scale. These factories will be supported by public funding from different levels of government in several jurisdictions.

You will own the relationship with Governmental organisations and departments that administer these programmes, and support wider policy team activity to engage governments on relevant broader policy questions, especially industrial policy and investment attraction.

This role will require frequent travel between our London and Edinburgh offices, and some travel to the EU and US.

**Who we are**

Energy is the primary input to everything. Our continued prosperity is dependent on reliable, affordable, clean electricity.

ENODA is an innovator in energy platforms, developing advanced technologies for grid operators and developers that remove constraints to decarbonisation.

Integrated hardware and software solutions slot into existing infrastructure, enabling the grid to become self-balancing and the primary provider of system stability.

We are a mission-driven organisation committed to enabling humanity to prosper on 100% renewable energy. We are averse to introducing bureaucracy and are building a working culture that enables us to achieve our purpose and change the world.

Check out the ENODA YouTube channel to learn more about us.

**You'll spend your time**:

- Managing relationships with funding bodies post reward
- Interpreting programme and funding requirements for non-policy audiences, primarily technical, economic and manufacturing colleagues
- Collaborating with commercial colleagues to understand DSO sales leads and the impact on the development of the manufacturing offer
- Developing and maintaining ENODA’s global network of governmental programme offices and awarding bodies
- Maintaining a good understanding of wider industrial and trade policy to support ENODA’s strategy development, owning industrial policy engagement
- Providing guidance on your area to wider team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing culture within the organisation
- As a member of the Policy, Regulation and Markets team, you will also be expected to contribute to monitoring and engagement on a wider range of policy issues that intersect with manufacturing, to represent ENODA across the full range of policy issues with relevant stakeholders and develop and maintain a network of local policymakers, programme administrators and others.

**The key experience we're looking for**:

- Familiarity with government incentive or funding programmes and awarding bodies.
- 2+ years experience working within government or in a government facing role on investment, funding or industrial policy roles
- Experience working with large manufacturing or industrial projects
- Experience working in/with governments to support economic development in growth sectors
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong numerical abilities: capacity to work with and communicate, although not necessarily develop, financial models and other quantifications of ENODA’s plans and their impact
- Ability to see policy and regulatory debates from multiple perspectives and engage productively with stakeholders with different perspectives
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with senior decision makers.

The following would be advantageous:

- Experience across multiple jurisdictions is a plus but not required
- Familiarity with energy technology and innovations, and the supply chain
- Experience within an industrial manufacturing organization
- Understanding of trade and customs barriers and impact on supply chain
- Experience working in an international context
- Language skills.

**What we offer**:

- Salary: £45K - £55K dependent on skills & experience
- Private Medical Insurance
- Flexible Pension policy tailored to your requirements
- 33 days annual leave + Holiday purchase/sell scheme
- Dental cash-back scheme
- Cycle-to-Work scheme
