**Client Details**

Northampton based healthcare organisation.

**Description**
- Work closely with and support the Finance leadership to ensure the statutory financial accounts, monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets are completed and distributed to the agreed timetable.
- Assist and support budget holders and managers in answering queries and in the management of their budgets
- Ensure the recognition of income and costs in the correct period.
- To report through internal key performance indicators, to ensure stability in operations and to support forecasting.
- Support and provide oversight to banking and cash, sales and purchase ledger processes.
- Be responsible for the cash-flow preparation.
- Support and undertake all finance transactions for all payroll requirements; to include support of Payroll
- To calculate and post monthly period-end journal accruals / prepayments, depreciation, ensure all control accounts are reconciled, continuously monitored and outstanding entries are resolved or understood in order to ensure timely completion of the monthend.
- Ensure that the finance leadership are fully aware of all risk and opportunities identified in transaction processing.
- Support in any dealings with internal and external auditors, HMRC and any other third party as required.
- Liaise with other members of staff from all areas of the business, providing financial information, support and advice. Support a collaborative culture to ensure that the best outcome is always achieved.
- Collaborate with other Finance team members, providing mentor support to them in all areas of Finance.
- Be responsible for the calculation of VAT returns for any subsidiary that is registered with HMRC, keeping abreast of all regulation changes.
- Continuously monitor and review existing financial controls and procedures and submit updates for review and implementation. Ensure the effectiveness of the finance function and efficient use of available resources and capabilities through reporting tosenior leadership of finance.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks as required by the Finance leadership that can include capital project funding as well as grant fund monitoring.

**Profile**
- ACCA or CIMA studier
- Previously worked in busy finance / accountancy role in a work environment
- Experience of collaborating with other team members
- Extensive experience of using SAGE (or similar) accountancy packages, SAGE (or similar) payroll packages and Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and Teams/Zoom
- Experience of handling confidential information appropriately
- Experience of advising managers and colleagues effectively in relation to financial issues
- Experience of effectively managing ledger transactions and ensuring the integrity of the financial statements.
- Experience of undertaking VAT returns is preferred
- Knowledge of accountancy practices and procedures
- Understanding of VAT issues
- Understanding of pensions law, HMRC regulations and pay legislation
