The Role:
The associate editor works closely with the editor and the senior editor to write and edit all content that appears on
_The_
- Journal_ and in
_The MR PORTER Post_. We are looking for someone with clever, inventive and catchy ideas - big and small - that will educate and engage our readers and other denizens of the internet and appeal to a wide range of MR PORTER customers (and pull some new ones in).

Reporting to the senior editor, this is a position for someone who wants to write, write, write and do a bit of editing, too (but mostly write). It’s also a position for someone who spends a lot of their time online, paying attention to what people are talking about, what they’re watching, who’s dressing well and why we should even care about any of that.

You will:

- Writing weekly stories (2-4) for the Journal on topics including fashion, trends, grooming, shopping, culture, and mental health (specialisation in one or two of these fields is encouraged)
- Talent ideation and outreach.
- Coming up with ideas for _The Journal_ and _The Post_.
- Commissioning freelance writers and editing their work.
- Finding and testing new contributors.
- Staying on top of the fashion, culture and trends news cycle.
- Finding inventive new ways to package and frame fashion and shopping stories.
- Working with the social team to package content from _The Journal_ on our channels.
- Working on partnership content when necessary.
