**About the Job**

**We are recruiting at our (enter site) for an HGV Skilled Mechanic.**

**Role & Responsibilities**:

- To Inspect and maintain our HGV Fleet to comply with Legal & Company standards.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT Testing and transport to Test Centre.
- To record vehicle defects and keep accurate records of work carried out on each vehicle.
- Repair Minor Accident Damage.
- Carry out Fault Diagnosis.
- Actively seek solutions to problems.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times.
- Working with the following Equipment (vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment):
**Vehicles**:

- Volvo FE220 26ton 6 x 2 rigid, refrigerated
- Scania P280 26ton 6 x 2 rigid, refrigerated
- Mercedes 1843 4x2 tractor unit
- Mercedes 2548 6x2 tractor unit
- Volvo FM11 tractor unit
- Daf CF 85 tractor unit

**Trailer**:

- 10.6m refrigerated box trailer
- 13.6m refrigerated box trailer
- 13.6m refrigerated curtain side trailer

**Tail Lifts**:

- Palfinger - Column lift
- Dholandia - Column lift

**Shift Patterns**:

- Please enter shift pattern / working times

**Key skills & experience**:

- Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable
- Works well both independently and in a team
- Manages deadlines well and understands how to prioritise a workload
- A positive thinking and self-motivated individual
- An effective team member who works well on their own initiative
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates an excellent attitude to work
- No more than 6 minor points on driving licence (No CDs, DDs, DRs or INs)

**Qualifications**:

- Commercial experience on HGV’s is _essential_
- City & Guilds part 1 & 2 &3/ BTEC / IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
