Job description
Sheffield Parking Services play a key role in supporting residents; businesses and visitors across the city through the provision of parking places and enforcement of parking and bus lane restrictions to keep the city moving and maintain the safety of pedestrians; drivers and their passengers.
Would you like to join a team that are involved in enforcement of Sheffield's Clean Air Zone to help reduce the number of polluting vehicles entering the city and improve the quality of the air that we breathe?
This is an exciting time to secure a role that involves reviewing and assessing footage of parking and traffic contraventions. Carrying out inputting and processing of data and images on the council’s ANPR enforcement system. This includes clean air zone, bus lanes and moving traffic offences.
The workload is varied and can range from reviewing parking and traffic contraventions images, administration work for blue badge misuse, and answering queries in different formats.
Full training and induction is provided.
You will have the opportunity to work flexibly across the working week between office and home to suit your work life balance and to meet the needs of the service. To enable you to do that you would need access to the internet via wi-fi in your home. You would be provided with the IT equipment to enable you to work from home.
If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have any unspent criminal convictions.
We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups. We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.
Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide pay slip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
Equality of pay is extremely important to us. All roles at Sheffield City Council are going through an evaluation process which may result in changes to some pay arrangements from 2026. Find out more on our Sheff news page.
