**WHO ARE WE**:
We are a Software House based in Leeds, which has re-created the way hundreds of thousands of students take notes throughout their studies, whether that be educational or individual learning. We want students to be able to focus in their classes, so we havecreated a software which will allow you to easily navigate throughout your notes by categorising them into value. We then reduce the overload of information, allowing you to have notes on what really matters so you can then take what you have learnt and consolidatethis into your studies. We have the aim to continue with what we're doing whilst significantly improving our customers lives for the better and eventually provide our software to millions of people across the globe.

**BACK END SOFTWARE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- You will be building and implementing functional software
- You will be working closely with other software engineers and the product team throughout the software development lifecycle
- You will produce clean, efficient and maintainable code
- You will have the opportunity to recommend and complete technical improvements
- We have tailored training and development opportunities so we are looking for someone who wants to develop their expertise in areas that are relevant to us

**BACK END SOFTWARE ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS**:

- Strong programming skills (object oriented and/ or functional).
- Experience using backend technologies Kotlin, Java
- Exposure to front end technologies such as JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS (Desirable)
- Ideally you would have experience with Mobile technologies (Android and/ or iOS).
- Persistence (mainly SQL, specifically PostgreSQL), some NoSQL.
- Knowledge of best practices in automated testing, Continuous Integration, Automated deployment, code quality etc.
