**Overview**

We are seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to join our modern toolroom facility. This is a key role responsible for producing high-quality press tooling to support our two on-site press shop operations. The position plays a critical part in ensuring that tooling meets the highest standards of precision, reliability, and quality in line with customer and regulatory requirements.

You will support the delivery of world-class manufacturing performance by providing expert grinding capabilities across both new and existing products—enhancing safety, quality, and delivery, while maintaining cost efficiency.

**Your Key responsibilities**:

- Program, set, and operate a range of CNC grinding machines with precision, working to fine tolerances as required by tooling specifications.
- Produce high-quality press tooling that meets exacting standards and supports the performance of in-house press shop operations.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of CNC and manual grinding, ensuring machines are maintained, calibrated, and operated safely and effectively.
- Continuously improve grinding techniques and processes to optimise quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

**Education / Training**
- Ideally qualified to HNC level in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in grinding, precision engineering, or similar (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).

**Knowledge / Experience**
- Strong experience with CNC grinding machines and controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Mazatrol).
- Skilled in manual cylindrical and surface grinding.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software for CNC programming is desirable.
- Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Solid awareness of workplace health & safety legislation
- Support and collaborate with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines and maintain a reliable supply of components.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of grinding operations, tooling modifications, and quality checks in line with regulatory and internal standards.
- Provide training to apprentices in CNC and manual grinding, or in other areas aligned with individual expertise, as required.

- 40 hrs per Week - Monday to Friday (6am - 2pm/2pm - 10pm)
