**Description**:
Would you like to be part of a brand-new 1st line Risk function, and lead the Risk Business Partnering Team? The team is a new 1.5 team responsible for driving the Risk & Control agenda across the AXA UK Health business with a very clear understanding of the factors that drive the risk profile of a Health business. As a senior member of the 1st Line Risk Team, the Risk Business Partner will play a key role in driving a robust and resilient risk culture throughout AXA UK Health, deepening the capability of the Health business to understand and manage its risk, whilst maintaining a strong and pervasive focus on positive business and customer outcomes.

The Risk Capability lead role will provide guidance and support to both the Risk Business Partnering team and the Risk Framework & Maturity Manager in uplifting the capability of the 1st line teams and evidencing progress against AXA Health’s Risk Maturity goals.

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Work alongside the Operational Risk leadership team and the 1st line business teams to evaluate and track the Risk & Control capability of leaders, managers, decision-makers and control owners.
- Working with the Framework & Maturity Manager, update the Health Risk Maturity Plan, assess adequacy of deliverables, and generate insight / reporting on progress. Agree with OR management team how to evidence progression against maturity goals and take responsibility for collating evidence.
- Support the Framework & Maturity Manager with running the Risk Transformation Working Group, which will be a business-wide virtual team of influencers who will help us deliver Risk & Control maturity.
- Develop a training schedule on behalf of the Operational Risk team, for delivery to the 1st line business teams so that the business teams can operate according to their responsibilities and with confidence.
- Define and deliver training on practical risk management tasks
- this will include training on Risk Incident capture and management, Controls Assessment. Some training may be delivered by the role holder, or expertise identified within the team and brought in. Manage and respond to queries from the 1st line on processes and procedures to improve their capability.
- Create and maintain repository of shared resources to support both the Operational Risk team and 1st line business teams to fulfil their Risk & Control responsibilities.
- Work with UK teams and 2nd line to source and recommend best practice training guides, tools and templates to enhance Risk & Control management across Health.

**Qualifications**:

- Some experience working with Risk & Control disciplines as part of a Risk or business team. This could be at a more tactical level, for example Risk Incident Management, Issue closure, Controls assessment.
- Organised and proactive approach to planning and monitoring of project plan progress. Attention to detail and willingness to ‘call things out’ if they do not look / sound right.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills - can boil down complex topics and explain them simply. Ability to draft training material or presentations in Word or Powerpoint as required.
- Listening skills and an empathic approach to engaging others across the Health business.
- Genuine enthusiasm about the importance of Risk & Control activities and the value they generate to a business like AXA Health.
- Willingness to learn and develop own understanding of Risk & Control to support own development and help the Health Operational Risk team to raise the bar.
