Great career development opportunity for an established Procurement professional to join our Group Procurement team covering Bristol Water, South West Water and Bournemouth Water.
**What will you be doing?**
As Procurement Specialist, you’ll be responsible for strategically leading and delivering end-to-end procurement lifecycle activities including sourcing, commercial performance management and supplier management across Procurement spend categories.
This is a great opportunity as you’ll be responsible for higher value, higher risk procurement requirements and will be able to lead on a range of category strategy developments and implementations.
In this role you will need to demonstrate a strong commercial focus that drives efficiencies and supports the management of commercial risks and opportunities across the business. You’ll be able to think and work independently, while also contributing to the category portfolios of our Procurement Business Partners and supporting team initiatives.
**Day to day you’ll be**

Lead the design, implementation and timely delivery of procurement & contracts strategies to fulfil category strategies and business objectives. Whilst ensuring alignment with corporate goals, business plan and risk appetite.

Provide insight and expertise, working with business stakeholders, to identify appropriate forms of contracts and commercial models for strategic goods, services and works agreements.
*
Prepare and evaluate pre-tender and tender documents including PQQs, ITT’s and RFQ’s in conjunction with business stakeholders to meet agreed procurement objectives around cost and quality.
*
Safeguard compliance with health and safety requirements, Procurement Policy, relevant external regulations, legislation and procurement law.
*
Strategic negotiation of new contracts and agreements, including jointly negotiated contracts (with the Western Procurement Hub (WPH), other utilities and organisations).
*
Prepare award recommendations for appropriate endorsement of new contracts, amendments and extensions.
*
Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships to deliver breakthrough performance in risk management, cost, service and quality - lead the commercial and contractual interaction with suppliers.
*
Analyse data and provide insight and support to the ongoing monitoring and management of suppliers, including due diligence checks, market insights, KPIs, contract analysis and end-user feedback.

Act as a key point of contact to both suppliers and Bristol Water business stakeholders to assist in resolution of sourcing, procurement policy and system queries.
*
Ability to cover others in the Procurement team, including helping to align processes across the team and assisting in the development and implementation of any new policy, procedures and processes.

What we’re looking for*
We need someone who has experience in a Procurement environment and confident in strategic commercial and contract development.

*
You will be comfortable working in a role which requires independent thinking, self-motivation, proactivity and flexibility while working in teams
*
Happy working with minimum supervision; efficiently managing own time and taking ownership and responsibility for delivering against performance objectives
*
Strategic approach and commercial focus when analysing problems, identifying alternative solutions and forming robust recommendations
*
A flexible approach to the work environment and an ability to manage running several tender events at any given time
*
Intellectually curious, analytical and adept at identifying new opportunities
*
Working knowledge of different forms of contracts and commercial models.
*
Ideally, you’ll have working knowledge of Procurement Regulations (e.g. Utilities Contract Regulations or similar)
*
Good working knowledge of MS Office and knowledge of ERP systems, preferably eProcurement tools and systems such as Achilles, Curtis Fitch, or similar
*
Ideally, you’ll also have, or be up for working towards becoming MCIPS qualified.
