Gully Sucker Operative

**Basic Function**
The role is to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Gully Sucker in accordance with Company requirements. To effectively work within a team on the Gully Sucker and clean drains in an efficient and effective way whilst also adhering to strict legislative compliance. To ensure that the drains are left in good working condition whilst following all street works guidelines.
**General Duties**:
- Contributing to the efficient running of the gull sucker without compromising quality.
- Ensuring that all Company Policies are adhered to and understood.
- Maintaining excellent customer service levels to successfully with the highest safety disciplines.
- Liaising with other Departments of the Business to ensure that all queries are dealt with in the correct way.
- Responsible for working in line with the company health and safety culture at all times and understanding the company health and safety policy.
- The need to be flexible regarding the job role and give full support to all new systems that are implemented.
- Ensure your compliance to all company health and safety procedures.
- Display a positive attitude at all times.
- You will work in line with the stringent Safe Systems of Work (SSOW’s) in place to ensure a clean and safe environment is maintained at all times.
**Specific Duties**:
- Operate machinery efficiently and within design parameters and operator ability;
- To report any defects on machinery immediately to the Manager
- Ensure working areas are always clear and clean
- Ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and within your H&S responsibilities as detailed in the company H&S policy.
- To carry out general maintenance and cleaning duties to drainage systems
- To use a computerised tablet system to read maps and locations of drains to empty
- To show good initiative in order to carry out the job safely and in a timely manor
- To be able to work as part of a small team
- Physical ability to use tools and operate heavy machinery
- Ability to use tools and machinery as per training provided

**Other Duties**:
- To undertake any other duties which may be required and which are consummate with the posts position within the company.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
