**Support Worker**
**(Internally know as an Enablement Assistant)**

**Hourly Rate: £10.35 per hour**

**Location: Sherborne**

**Type of Contract: Full-Time**

**Hours of work: 12 hour Shifts, days/nights and sleep-ins available**

**About the role**

PBS4 is looking to recruit Support Workers to enable James in his everyday life. James has Autism and suffers with his Mental Health, therefore requires experienced support workers who are understanding, patient, calm and supportive. James sometimes needs time to process things and will need support workers who are able to recognise when that is the case and to pull back and allow him space. You will ideally have experience of supporting individuals with behaviours that can challenge and be able to calmly deescalate where needed.

James likes to have fun and needs support workers who are happy to engage in his interests. He likes True Crime, Harry Potter and other box sets as well as films and going to the Cinema. He likes to write lists and novels and loves stationary. He is keen on photography and likes visiting the library and lots of new places he hasn't been to before.

James requires support with managing his weekly finances, shopping lists, planning his meals and daily cleaning. He also needs support with his time management and planning activities and days out, including going for meals, to the cinema and for short breaks.

James has 3:1 support and he would like a collaborative team who are happy to engage in his interests so that he can live his life as he chooses.

**About PBS4**

We are a not for profit and social enterprise support provider for adults and young adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism. We support people to live in their own homes, with their own tenancies and our model of support is a practice called Positive Behaviour Support. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.

As an Enablement Assistant you will have the support of a team of people dedicated to supporting that person. You will also be able to access support from the Enablement Leader, the Enablement Manager, and the Positive Behaviour Support Clinician who provide you and the team with management and leadership. Your shift pattern may consist of day shifts, waking nights and sleeps.
