**Do you like working outside of the classroom? Can you support pupils in their home enviroment in order to improve their confidence and self-esteem and make to return to school easier for them?**
We are recruiting for a progressive ASD school based in Maidstone, Kent. They are seeking an outreach tutor with a passion for supporting young people with Autism (ASD). Outreach Tutors support pupils 1:1 in the classroom and off-site helping to developtheir physical, social and mental well-being.
**The Outreach Tutor role**:
Supporting a pupil with ASD and high anxiety in the classroom and at home
Working 1:1
Being a positive role model and establishing positive relationships with pupils and helping to develop their social skills and self confidence
Working well with other members of the Outreach team to provide a stimulating learning environment.
**What we are looking for**:
Previous SEND, Outreach, classroom, or youth work experience desirable
A desire to learn new ASD teaching strategies and skills to best support students
Be able to comfortably work 1:1 with pupils off-site and support their additional needs
Organised, reliable, friendly, hard-working and resilient with a good sense of humour.
Enhanced DBS or one in progress.
