LOCATION- REMOTE WORK BUT UK BASED
- Product, Controls and Data Lab:
This role is within the Fast Data team that sits in the Product, Control and Data Lab (PCD). PCD is responsible for valuation, risk and control of the Markets trading book. Lab systems encompass Credit and Risk Analytics Compute Grids; Data Lake technology;Surveillance platforms; and utilize public and private Cloud deployment. The lab is staffed by a mix of Engineers, Product Owners and Business Analysts working across multiple Regulatory deliveries.
Fast Data team:
The team is focused on delivering robust and scalable software used for regulatory reporting. Our primary language is Scala. Fast Data team is composed of Scala and Tableau developers, and we all work closely with the programme/ business. You'll be based inLondon and be working with the Engineering Lead.
Our team mission is to deliver high quality software with mínimal incidents, whilst building trusted and positive relationships with the business. We look to work in an agile and collaborative manner, always learning and improving ourselves and sharing knowledgewith the wider team.
Primary focus is on the development, maintenance and testing of new Scala based software over the full software development lifecycle. Specific activities could include:

- Developing well tested and robust code using Scala in an Agile project environment.
- Maintain and improve existing software.
- Delivering regulatory software to a high standard.
- Identification of opportunities to automate and simplify.
- Responsible for further production investigation, when handed over from support teams.
- Prepare change requests to the required standard and finish the necessary audit artefacts.
- Adhere to LBG audit and control processes, SLA's and behaviours.
- Ad-hoc requests for information and domain expertise.
- excellent skills in Scala/Java or any JVM-based language.
- Good knowledge of computer science fundamentals (example: data structures, design patterns).
- Experience working with Hadoop ecosystem
- Working experience of Spark,Kafka
- Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new tech.
