The Tyne and Wear Pension Fund is a regional pension fund administering the Local Government Pension Scheme. We are a high achieving Fund. You will support Team Managers in the running of the teams to achieve the aims and objectives of the Pensions Service. You will have responsibility for day-to-day supervision of Pensions Officers with the team. You will assist with the training of Pensions Officers and support staff and others as required, including the preparation of training manual and materials.
You will develop strong positive and productive working relationships with colleagues, external organisations and third-party suppliers. You will help drive forward best value and deliver excellent customer service as well as helping to ensure the Fund meets performance targets and deadlines.
Further details on the role on each of the teams are as follows:
Employer Services Team, you will:
- Assist the Team Manager in running the team which has overall responsibility for strategic development and delivery of scheme employer education, communication and liaison;
- Be the main day to day contact for scheme employers, offering support and advice;
- Ensure efficient receipt and accuracy of member data;
- Assist with monitoring and compliance against statutory requirements, performance indicators and service standards.
Operations Team, you will:
- Assist the Team Manager in running the team, ensuring the maintenance of accurate and appropriate records for members of the Pensions Scheme;
- Ensure all amounts related to member and dependant pensions benefits, lump sums and transactions are correctly calculated, verified, paid and accounted for.
Systems Team, you will:
- Assist the Team Manager in the provision of strategic and technical support to the Pensions Office;
- Ensure the Pensions Office IT systems make the largest possible contribution to the Pensions Service and offer effective and efficient business solutions;
- Ensure the Pensions Office systems comply with legal requirements;
- Ensure data is held correctly and can be reported on for performance and management information.
Development Team, you will:
- Assist the Team Manager to project manage and deliver new developments and initiatives across the Service;
- Play a role in service transformation through innovation, automation and digitisation;
- Assist with development of effective reporting and management information;
- Identify trends and opportunities to improve performance, drive forward service delivery and customer care.
Member Services Team, you will:
- Assist the Team Manager with the strategic development and delivery of scheme member education communications and pensioner payroll services;
- Assist with the development of all standard letters and leaflets and documents;
- Assist with maintenance of the public and secure website;
- Oversee the day to day activities for front line service delivery and payroll processing;
- Assist with developing and monitoring quality standards to meet statutory requirements and drive forward and deliver excellent customer service.
