**Content Editor**

Dnata Travel Group are on the lookout for a strong Content Editor to collaborate alongside key Business Stakeholders and SEO team to implement and further develop a content vision & strategy for our Travelbag brand. The role will involve management of content production, but also a large amount of content writing and editing.

dnata Travel Group specialise in Cargo, Ground Handling & Catering in Airports across the world and continue to grow in this ever-challenging industry. dnata Travel Group are part of the Emirates Group, which includes the brands of Gold Medal, Netflights, Travelbag, Travel Republic, and Sunmaster. These brands are based at offices across the UK including Preston (Leyland), Kingston-upon-Thames, Chester and Halifax.

**Responsibilities**:

- Act as the champion of the Travelbag style guide and become a key resource for all queries and questions in relation to Tone of voice, across the whole business.
- Refine a workflow strategy to optimise the copy-editing and proofreading process.
- Overseeing scheduling for the content team, while managing own daily and weekly content workload.
- Editing content, within our content management systems, publishing it onto our websites, and leading by example with exemplary editing standards.
- Editing copy for consistency, style, figures, grammar and punctuation.
- Supporting the marketing and destination product team in ensuring quality standards across the team are met
- Use SEO practices to optimize articles and increase its visibility in search
- Proactively support our commercial efforts, including surfacing key research content to support marketing efforts; proofing marketing and campaign copy; proofing ad hoc pieces produced by marketing team;
- Writing articles and editorial for customer magazines /DMs, as well as copy for other print marketing collateral.
- Driving content process improvements - contributing ideas (discovering new keywords and themes) and supporting their execution
- Able to work on broad variety of matters within the content spectrum and will sometimes be required to produce an SEO campaign with limited time, talent and budget

**Team Management & Development**
- Management and development of Content Team, as well as fluctuating volumes of freelancers or agencies.
- Monitor the quality of direct reports’ work and offer regular editorial feedback by acting as a mentor and role model to support the professional development of junior colleague (s)
- Comfortable making judgement calls and problem-solving for the team as/where needed
- Ability to find, negotiate with and manage local resource (SEO outreach agencies, content agencies, PR, designers etc.) when required.
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding and training of new copywriters (incl. freelancers)

**Relationship Management**
- Act as a point person for content interactions with the wider business, including questions on style guide, training new team members and liaising with product to ensure the timely publishing of all content
- Act as a point person for external outreach agencies, managing their relationships by leading weekly calls, organising quarterly meeting and driving development of new content ideas for maximum output

**Experience required**:

- Previous experience of working in travel editorial content
- Degree-educated, with a qualification in journalism, editing or English language.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Management experience - a track record of mentoring and providing guidance
- Previous experience editing and proofreading in an online B2C English-language environment.
- Excellent time management skills, with an ability to work to tight and multiple deadlines, while maintaining quality control processes, accuracy and style
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and HTML
- Hands-on experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. Umbraco)
- An ability to write creative copy both for large pieces of content (e.g. product descriptions) and smaller texts (e.g. social media posts)
- Must be collaborative in approach.
- Must be highly organised with solid time management skills
- Strong SEO knowledge is a must
- Works regularly with a mixture of people from managers, immediate team, and third-party suppliers.
- Faces a regular mixture of routine and non-routine problems in the role.
- Should be resilient and calm under pressure.
- Must be a proactive problem solver.
