**What you’ll be doing**

We are looking for a Materials Planner to ensure that the production schedule is achieved through effective ordering and delivery of materials to sites.You’ll schedule the delivery of raw materials to support our production plan, working within agreedtarget stock levels across all six of our UK sites. You’ll also provide accurate, weekly, 12-week forecasts to suppliers and check and understand material availability following daily plan changes. This will enable you to ensure on-time supply to production,highlighting any key issues, as well as monitoring stock levels on a weekly basis, and keeping in line with inventory stock holding targets.

The role includes but is not limited to:

- Analysing and executing MRP requirements on a daily/weekly basis to ensure the production plan is met and materials are in place at the right time, in the right quantities
- Identifying missing parts/shortages against the production plan, proactively expediting orders and chasing resolution with suppliers to minimise impact on customer service levels
- Investigating the root cause of material shortages, and implementing any necessary corrective actions, or escalating as required
- Reviewing daily overdue deliveries, and following up with suppliers to ensure no impact to the production plan
- Proactively reviewing forward orders on a weekly basis, amending dates/quantities where necessary in order to ensure no over stocking at site
- Arranging site-to-site transfers of materials where necessary and in order to keep material obsolescence within agreed targets
- Reviewing/managing stocks in own categories, ensuring material obsolescence is kept within agreed targets
- Issuing weekly/monthly forecast information to key suppliers
- Providing stock information to project managers as required in order for decisions to be made on delist/changeover dates
- Running weekly “ingredient expiring batches” report, making necessary extension requests to the site Quality Team, whilst also working with Planning/Commercial teams to amend production and reduce write-off costs
- Attending supplier review meetings with the Materials Purchasing Manager, and supporting/following-up any necessary actions
- Taking a lead role on Continuous Improvement projects within the department in order to streamline process improvements, including links with other departments
- Managing and maintaining MRP Master Data within SAP/IREN to enable the full functionality of MRP to be utilised, looking for continual improvement and automation of processes
- Support the MRP Administrators through the recording of the daily supplier OTIF information and provision of RORI (Run Out Run In of packaging) information as required

The salary for this role is dependent on experience.
