We have an exciting opportunity to join our established team as a Collection Operative.

We’re looking for a hard-working and flexible Collection Operative who is committed to working safely at all times to join the Totally Local Company’s Recycling and Refuse Team. If you are a friendly team player with good time management and organisational skills - then you will be a perfect fit.

**What you will be doing in this role**:

- You'll help make Stockport cleaner by undertaking the collection of waste for recycling, composting and disposal.
- You’ll follow work instructions to undertake waste collection duties in a manner that ensures business customers receive a reliable, consistent and effective service.
- You’ll undertake the collection and handling of general and bulky waste items, spillages and fly-tipped materials as required.
- You'll act as “Reversing Assistant” when necessary to help ensure that reversing manoeuvres are undertaken safely.
- You’ll report any matters as they arise regarding excessive waste production, potential abuses of the services by traders or others, contamination of materials and problems affecting the maintenance of a clean environment.
- You’ll comply with all requirements relating to health, safety and welfare provisions and to report as appropriate equipment defects, working practices and any issues that may adversely impact on the health, safety or welfare of any person.

**What we are looking for**:

- You’ll have experience working effectively to timescales in a busy operational depot.
- You'll be a team player with good communication skills.
- You’ll use your own initiative and diligence to ensure compliance to all health and safety standards.
- You'll be willing to work flexibly in a changing environment to complete scheduled services and from any company depot as required.
- You'll act professionally at all times when in contact with the public and other customers.; you will be responsible for presenting a positive image of both TLC and our clients.
