**Salary**:S**tarting salary £10,847 for first 12 months, rising to National Minimum Wage for age**

**Contract**:NSG Apprentice, Full Time, Fixed Term - 18 months**

**Hours**:37 per week**

**Annual Leave**:30 per annum plus statutory Bank Holidays**

**About the role**

The Apprentice Chef will assist in ensuring the prompt and efficient preparation and service of all meals to the College standard and to the customer’s satisfaction. They will ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and instructions on cleanliness, hygiene and health and safety and be actively involved in the attainment of objectives contained within the College’s Development Plan.

- Middlesbrough College is the largest General Further Education College in the Tees Valley and has been situated in Middlehaven, Middlesbrough, since 2008. It has developed from the initial main site to the vibrant campus that is now in place with our Campus Heart, dedicated Sixth Form, STEM Centre, Higher Education Centre, and further development for our apprentices in progress.- The College provides excellent facilities for approximately 13,000 students from across the region and whilst we are very proud of our campus and the equipment our students have access to, we are clear that it is the experience and dedication of our staff that make a positive difference to the lives of our students, helping them to achieve their educational goals and progress into work, higher education, or apprenticeships.- In 2020/2021, 96% of learners following a study programme attained a positive destination into further training, apprenticeship, or employment. - At least 3 GCSEs, including Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
- Customer service experience is desirable.
- To have the ability to listen and act on instruction given by other team members with confidence when required to do so.
