Paediatric Ed Senior Sister

An opportunity now exists for current band 6 or 7 paediatric staff nurses with extensive experience to extend their leadership skills in a Children’s ED environment working alongside a varied nursing workforce, Paediatric Emergency Consultants, ENP’s and GP’s.
These posts are band 7’s aimed at providing senior experience within the nursing establishment to cover the seven day period and LD/Nights shift patterns, leading shifts and managing patient pathways improving clinical care and patient experience. Applicants must like a challenge, respond well to the demands of a busy department, have good communication skills and enjoy working at a fast pace in a multidisciplinary team.
The post holder has shared 24 hour responsibility for the Children’s Accident and Emergency Department.
Act as an expert clinical practitioner and role model within all areas of children’s emergency nursing
The development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, and the setting of standards of care of the children and their family / carers.
This responsibility includes liaising with the multidisciplinary team and providing leadership to nursing colleagues.
Take responsibility in managing and closing down clinical incidences for the department

The post holder has shared 24-hour responsibility for the Children’s Accident and Emergency Department.
