To assist the duty Chef(s) in providing wholesome, nutritious meals to residents. Ensuring that the kitchen area is maintained to a high standard of hygiene.

Previous experience in Catering advantageous but not essential.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist with preparation of meals as directed by the duty Cook or Chef(s).
2. Maintain a hygienic working area, ensuring that all floors, surfaces and equipment within the kitchen and food stores are kept clean, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP) and following Company Food Hygiene & Safety
3. Maintain and account for stocks of foodstuffs in accordance with the duty Chef’s instructions, ensuring that all food items are stored correctly, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP) and following Company Food Hygiene & Safety
4. Assist with the distribution of meals, drinks etc, to residents as and when required.
5. Assist with the serving of meals, drinks etc, to residents as and when required, in line with the Company policy Meals and Mealtimes
6. Ensure that dining rooms are cleared quickly and efficiently after meal times and that the dining room is clean
7. Ensuring that all crockery, cutlery and other utensils used in the preparation of meals are washed properly and stored appropriately, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP) and following Company Food Hygiene & Safety
8. Maintain knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety etc., through attending training courses and staff meetings as and when directed, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP) and following Company Food Hygiene & Safety
9. Ensure that all faults with kitchen equipment are reported immediately to enable the appropriate repairs to be carried out
10. Maintain the safety of self and other kitchen personnel at all times, and reporting any accidents and/or dangerous occurrences to the Chef, Home Manager/Person-in-Charge, following the Company Policy Health & Safety

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
