Medical Records Team Leader

If you are a highly motivated and hard working individual who would like a new challenge working within our busy Medical Record Library Team as a team leader then this may be the role for you.
We are looking for excellent communication and organisational skills together with a confident and pleasant telephone manner. Good IT skills as well as a keen eye for detail and ability to multitask are skills that are vital in this busy role, as you will be supporting the team with a range of administrative tasks. Ideally the post holder will need experience of staff and rota management.
This is a part time post 30 hours per week, working Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2pm-10p shift.

The team leader on each shift is expected to ensure key issues are handed over to the next shift and encourage wider team working across all shifts within the Library.
The Library Team Leader reports to the Health Records Service Coordinator and Health Records Assistant Service Manager. It is imperative that key operational issues are escalated appropriately and support or guidance is sought in a timely manner from the Service Coordinator and Assistant Service Manager.
A pivotal part of the role is to encourage innovation and introduce new ways of working, whilst maintaining operational service delivery and rota management. Please note that certain aspects of the role can be physically demanding.

The Medical Records Department are looking to for a team leader on the evening shift across 4 days per week (Tue,Wed,Thur,Fri). Each shift will be 7.5 hours (2pm-10pm). The shift pattern is anticipated to be flexible across the weekday and cross cover maybe required.
As Health Records Team Leader the post holder will be responsible for:
- Managing the workload for the team, ensuring effective delivery of health records for the emergency department, assessment units, wards, outpatient clinics and planned intervention unit.
- Providing support and leadership to the teams, including sickness management and performance monitoring.
- Delivering an effective and efficient service, providing cover when necessary for other team leaders across the department.
- Liaising with staff and specialty teams in a professional manner
