**Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working**

We are the national body for careers education in England, delivering support to schools and colleges to deliver modern, 21st century careers education.

The Careers & Enterprise Company is a great place to work. We operate within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. We are brought together by one thing: our passion to ensure young people get the best possible start in life and are supported to find their best next step.

Do you want to be part of a mission-driven team focused on transforming young people’s lives? If so, we’d love to hear from you

We’re seeking an innovative, collaborative and driven leader to be an authority on careers education across England. Using a wide range of evidence and data the Head of Impact will review the outcomes of our work as well as the overall impact of high quality careers education.

Our goal is to improve the career outcomes for all young people. The Head of Impact will oversee the framework that measures and reports on these outcomes. The postholder will lead all aspects of our impact review, including data, evaluation activity and other research to inform improvements.

Much of this work is iterative and some is project-bound, with the annual cycle featuring a major autumn impact report at its centre (Trends in Careers Education) and associated mid-year updates (Careers Readiness amongst young people)

Responsible for leading the company’s approach to impact measurement. The postholder will be responsible for overseeing a range of evidence that examines the impact that the CEC has - leading to service improvement and amplification of good practice - as well as the national careers system as a whole.

**Leadership and management**
- Manage the day-to-day activities and outputs of the research team.
- Depending on experience and skillset, line manage and take overall responsibility of the members of the data teams.
- Mentor and develop the research and data teams
- Be accountable for evaluation and research projects, potentially with external partners, that produce insights that drive improvements
- Manage and deliver research projects addressing careers and enterprise education and other areas that relate to the Company’s strategic objectives

**Evaluation and research**
- Identify and consolidate existing relevant research and create links with other areas to ensure CEC has a deep asset of knowledge and evidence
- Identify areas of key insight that are missing from the current evidence base and work with partners and other research organisation to fill these gaps, positioning CEC as a thought leader in this space
- Lead the writing and editing of reports outlining key insights.
- Present research findings and represent the Company to a range of stakeholders including government, employers and educators.

**Influencing**
- Network with and manage relationships with key stakeholders, such as government officials think tanks, and funders to ensure CEC’s contributions to insight on impact across the sector is coordinated and collaborative.
- Ensure the results of CEC’s insight output is accessible and of practical value to all leaders within the system.
- Build the capacity of teams across Careers Hubs to evaluate their interventions.
