Empowering Learning are working with a primary and secondary school looking for a Teaching and Learning Assistant to join one of our happy and successful schools.

We are looking for an excellent and experienced Teaching Assistant who is flexible, resilient, and enthusiastic. You will be required to work across all areas of the school, so experience of, Key Stage 2 and 3 is desirable.

A positive interest in working with children

Adaptability and flexible work ethic

Ability and willingness to work constructively as part of a team

Ability to work calmly and with patience

To build positive relationships with both staff, pupils and parents

Empathy for pupils facing barriers to their learning

Relevant work experience in a similar background within a primary / secondary / SEND school setting

Experience of working with pupils with a range of SEND (autism, ADHD, dyslexia)

To be able to maintain effective record keeping

Ability to supervise groups of students

Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities

Knowledge of the requirements of the national curriculum

Effective oral and written communication skills

Good organisational and time management skills

Able to form and maintain appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with children and young people.

Ability to deal with sensitive information in a confidential manner.

**Duties and responsibilities**:
Be aware of and support children's personal, social and emotional needs so that children feel secure and happy within the school environment.

Support the delivery of lessons and activities to meet all children's needs

Reflect and evaluate the impact of own teaching and make improvements

Encouraging children to both interact and work cooperatively as well as develop independence and self-reliance. This includes promoting values, attitudes and good child behaviour acting as a role model, and engaging children in activities and providing immediatefeedback in relation to progress and achievement.

Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and security, equality and diversity, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the headteacher.

Promoting positive values, attitudes, and good child behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy, encouraging children to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Establishing positive and productive relationships with children, acting as a role model, and setting high expectations for behaviour and learning.

Take a shared responsibility for enabling children to reach their full potential and seeking continuous improvement in the school.

Being aware of and supporting difference and undertaking actions to ensure that all children have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.

Establish close, productive, supporting, and caring relationships with children, providing immediate feedback whilst acting as a role model.
