**Senior Technical Manager - Audio, Video and Evidence Presentation**

**Salary: £58,460 to £62,614 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £58,460 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £62,614 will be via incremental progression.**

**Digital Forensics is helping deliver tangible outcomes for criminal justice. In the field of Audio, Video and Evidence Presentation, your work will ensure that balanced and informative evidence is available for all interested parties. As such, you’lldirectly aid the investigation of criminality supporting the Criminal Justice System.**

This is your opportunity to take on the strategic, technical and operational leadership of Digital Forensic Specialists who handle casework in Forensic Services’ Audio, Video and Evidence Presentation department for the MPS. You’ll be supporting and leadingdedicated specialists and senior specialists at the top of their digital forensic fields and driving innovation, change and service delivery throughout.

Implementing policy and providing guidance on the evidential analysis of Digital Forensics, you’ll establish performance standards and a programme of continual improvement. You will identify training requirements and deal with financial management for thesection. In addition, as part of the Digital Forensics Senior Leadership Team you’ll work to develop and deliver change.

It will call on your strong knowledge of digital forensics disciplines, especially in video, audio or evidence presentation. You’ll be able to spot capability gaps and commission the right research and development to meet it, and manage resources in an areaof high and increasing demand. Of course, you’ll need to be a strong team leader and manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

**Role Duties and Responsibilities;**
- Strategic and technical leadership of varied digital forensic sections (Audio, Video and Evidence Presentation)
- Implementing policy and providing guidance and instruction on legislative and procedural matters relating to evidential analysis in Digital Forensics
- Establish professional and performance standards for the section, including a programme of review and action so as to ensure continual improvement of processes and competencies
- To identify technical capability gaps and commission research and development to meet this challenge
- To identify training requirements and development needs to expand the knowledge and skills of the staff, ensuring that training is effectively delivered, evaluated and recorded
- Financial management of department including preparing budgets and forecasts and exercising financial control of allocated funds, producing estimates of projected spend and financial reports
- Work in partnership with Directorate of Forensic Services Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and deliver change
- Collate and provide Management Information
- Comply with all Health and Safety obligations
- Be prepared to be on-call and work outside of normal office hours as investigations or critical activities require
- To work within the Directorate’s Quality Management System and actively participate in the continuous improvement of the system by engaging in audits, competence tests, reporting non-conformances and suggesting changes to improve the system.
