- We are looking for an exceptional individual with the drive and commitment to support the delivery of the vision for the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital.**Contact details**:
**Status**:Part time (17.5 hours per week), Permanent
**Closing date**: 18 October 2024
**_ We are looking for an exceptional individual with the drive and commitment to support the delivery of the vision for the Scottish Forum on Natural Capital._**
Natural capital can be defined as the world’s stocks of natural assets which include geology, soil, air, water and all living things.
It is from this natural capital that humans derive a wide range of services, often called ecosystem services, which make human life possible.
The Scottish Forum on Natural Capital is a network of communities of practice around natural capital in Scotland, working closely with the Scottish Government and NatureScot (Scotland’s nature delivery agency) and a mix of expert advisors, those delivering nature-based solutions and those enabling nature market infrastructure to foster shared understanding and promote delivery of natural capital mechanisms and solutions.
Under the umbrella of the Forum, we have Hubs and Networks: four Hubs concentrating on the Natural Capital topics of Finance, Land Management, Marine, and Digital; and two additional networks (offshoot Exploration Zones) considering Community Benefits and International Nature Finance.
We are now looking for someone to drive this network forward on a day-to-day basis, providing the secretariat function, promoting strong programme management, coordinating stakeholder involvement and keeping up-to-date with latest developments in the field.
If you have experience of working in a multi-stakeholder environment, excellent communication skills, a proven track record of achieving results and a sound understanding of this rapidly evolving area, we would love to hear from you.
**About us**
For 60 years, the Scottish Wildlife Trust has worked with its members, partners and supporters in pursuit of its vision of healthy, resilient ecosystems across Scotland’s land and seas.
The Trust successfully champions the cause of wildlife through policy and campaigning work, demonstrates best practice through practical conservation and innovative partnerships, and inspires people to take positive action through its education and engagement activities. The Trust manages a network of around 120 wildlife reserves across Scotland and is a member of the UK-wide Wildlife Trusts movement.
