**Estimating Apprentice**

**Role Overview**

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Assist in reviewing tender documents and technical drawings.

Support in taking off quantities and preparing Bills of Quantities.

Help source and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations.

Aid in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and pricing documents.

Maintain and update estimating databases and systems.

Attend site visits and meetings when required.

Collaborate with other departments (design, procurement, site teams).
- **Stakeholder Collaboration**: Work collaboratively with internal departments to understand procurement needs and provide effective support. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- **Process Improvement & Compliance**: Ensure Estimating processes align with best practices and industry regulations. Participate in audits and reviews to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- **Training & Development**: Engage in training programs to develop expertise in procurement and supply chain management.

**Skills and Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of estimating software (e.g. Conquest, Causeway, Candy) is a plus.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (with training).
- Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

**Desirable**:

- Previous work experience in a business or Estimating-related role (preferable).
- Knowledge of Estimating principles.
