**The Opportunity**

We are seeking an experience Purchasing professional to join the E&T Purchasing team that can bring energy, capability and the desire to research, assess and deliver strategic sourcing plans, driving execution whilst managing productive commercial relationships with our current supply base. Collaborating with our IPSD Medium Engines colleagues, you will deliver a unified, competitive, risk mitigated sourcing strategy.

**Job Responsibilities and Duties**:

- This role is responsible and accountable for the development, and / or communication and implementation of a regional turbocharger strategy into support of a global sourcing strategy. Responsible for management, and execution of the regional category strategy managing policies, agreements, source catalogues, and special procurement programs and serve as the direct commercial contact for the turbocharger supply base.
- Ensure business continuity, supplier risk management (capacity & financial), assurance of supply, contract management, supplier commercial negotiations, cost / spend management, Total Cost of Acquisition (TCA) assurance, supplier on / off boarding, response time optimisation and resource management decisions
- Demonstrate leadership in recognising the potential for cost and inventory reductions and promoting a Zero-Defect methodology, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
- To serve as the primary contact for commercial discussions and negotiations with suppliers
- Promote the highest level of professionalism and business ethics
- Collaborate with Supplier Development Engineers to lead and drive continuous improvement in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Management (QCLDM) with key suppliers.
- Build and foster mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organisational levels.
- Identify, qualify, and on-board new suppliers and proactively manage their maturation within the business units.
- Leadership - Provide leadership for strategic sourcing -qualified supply network, business continuity, supplier risk management - capacity & financial, logistics, contract management, supplier commercial negotiations, cost/spend management - TCA assurance, supplier on boarding/off boarding, lead/response time optimization and resource management decisions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and purchasing new product introduction activities within Purchasing. Demonstrate leadership in recognizing the potential for cost and inventory reductions, and quality improvement, as well as responsibility for soundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
- Mentor and develop other Category Buyers, SDEs, and Supply Network Specialists. Act as the Category/Purchasing contact lead for IPSD-M Turbochargers with direct interaction with the Product Manager and General Manager leadership teams.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in Site/Category purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing, or engineering ideally gained in manufacturing, off highway machines (Construction/Mining) or engines. Other areas such as Automotive or FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) will also be considered
- Relevant Purchasing experience with International Supply base
- An undergraduate degree from a college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, acting with integrity in tough and emotive situations; able to mediate and reach consensus within a group environment.
