**The Recruitment Crowd are recruiting on behalf of our established client based in Elland. We are looking for an experienced Yard Team Leader to join the team.**

**Hours**: 40 hours per week across 5 days (overtime available)

**Pay Rate**: £12.50 per hour PAYE

**Location**: Elland, HX5

**Job Type**: Permanent

**The Role**:

- Manage colleagues and yard functions, including equipment and storage areas, in accordance with H&S policies and legislative requirements.
- Ensure operatives adhere to agreed work schedules and break times.
- Provide accurate stock information for dispatches and reporting.
- Coordinate with internal and external customers on goods-in and dispatches.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workplace following 5S principles.
- Work outside normal shift hours as needed, including stock takes.
- Proactively prevent accidents and promote safe working practices.
- Attend monthly H&S meetings and brief the team.
- Conduct various weekly audits (H&S, 5S, etc).
- Manage warehouse goods in/out and stock control.
- Deliver key performance goals by optimizing people, plant, and processes.
- Handle all deliveries efficiently.
- Coach, lead, and develop team members.
- Support the area supervisor and implement performance targets.
- Identify training needs and support process changes.
- Facilitate operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with different departments on operational matters.
- Maintain high levels of stock integrity and minimize damages during transportation.
- Conduct daily team huddles for H&S, quality, and performance discussions.
- Act as a backup for the supervisor during absences.
- Work a minimum of 5 days out of 7 (Monday to Friday).
- Cover shift requirements as needed by production demands.
- Be open to reasonable responsibilities and requests from management.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience in a supervisor/team leader position, preferably in a warehouse environment (minimum 3 years).
- CoSHH trained.
- IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
- Knowledge and awareness of company EHS.
- Counterbalance FLT license held for a minimum of 3 years with experience in FLT use.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, able to use own initiative, and deliver results.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Flexible and committed team player.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Confident and hands-on approach.
- Formal supervisor or management qualification preferred.
- Minimum 6 GCSEs.
