We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic building professional, able to bring us your skills to care for some of the most historic buildings and structures in Midlands. You'll spend your days working with historic mansions, vernacular buildings, visitor infrastructure, and everything in between, covering areas such as Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
What it's like to work here:Reporting to a Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll be part of a team of conservation specialists working in a thriving Building Surveyor community. You'll provide support and expertise in all aspects of building compliance, conservation, repair, maintenance, and projects.

What you'll be doing:You’ll be a key part of our buildings team in the Midlands and East of England consultancy, comprising of surveyors, architects, planners, project and contract managers and many other specialists. You'll be responsible for a portfolio of work that is varied and always interesting.
You'll review, develop, and implement programs of short
- and long-term cyclical work, commissioning surveys, and investigative work to ensure that we understand the needs of our buildings.
You'll deliver projects that address key conservation needs for our mansions, improvements to visitor infrastructure and facilities and manage complex reactive building events.
You’ll work collaboratively to support our property and facilities management teams to help them reach the right decisions about the care of their properties and where required, take ownership for appointing and handling external consultants.
We're looking for a chartered Building Surveyor with expertise in the sustainable use, repair, and conservation of historic buildings.
Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Full member of Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Chartered Institute of Buildings (CIOB) or Architects Registration Board (ARB)
- Knowledge of building conservation, defect diagnosis, maintenance, and repair
- Track record of preparing specifications and schedules of works
- Project Management experience
- Experience in contract management and contract administration
- Experience of financial responsibility for projects and cyclical work
- Full driving licence will be required for travel around the region (mileage allowance will be paid for work travel)
