**Job Description & Person Specification**

Edinburgh Interfaith Association (EIFA) is the longest running Scottish interfaith organisation. We work to promote interfaith engagement, respect and understanding of and between faith communities.
Job Purpose
Too complete the delivery of the, ‘Our Faith Communities Our Edinburgh,’ Edinburgh 900 project under the direction of the Executive Director. This is a project will take the form of a dynamic multi-media exhibition with the aims of raising knowledge and awareness of the heritage and history of the many diverse religious groups which have come to make Edinburgh their home over the past 900 years. It will showcase the interconnectedness of communities' histories, and celebrate the diversity of this city and its constituent parts.
Main Duties
i) To recruit and manage volunteers to assist with the project
ii) To record and collate the stories of a sampling of faith communities across Edinburgh and to highlight and share their unique stories in the context of Edinburgh as a city
iii) To highlight some of the contributions of Edinburgh faith communities to the 900 year history of Edinburgh
iv) To upload and create an audio and visual library hosted on the EIFA website to share the stories and as part of a travelling exhibition
v) To create and design a multi-media exhibition which will exhibit in around Edinburgh and be available to schools
vi) The exhibition would include large colour display boards and audio and visual content. The main focus being a series of photographs by local photographers, added to images and accompanying stories from local members of the main faith communities of the city of Edinburgh. It will also include a multi-media oral presentation introducing the exhibition and history of Edinburgh’s faith communities.
vii) To help deliver educational events and public events centered around the exhibition introducing speakers sharing stories from the communities involved
Person Specification
i) Good religious literacy and respect for—and sensitivity towards—people of different religious traditions and cultures.
ii) Strong administrative skills gained through previous relevant experience.
iii) Excellent planning and organisational skills.
iv) Proven ability to work with mínimal supervision.
v) Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
vi) Good general IT skills.
Key Relationships
The Project Co-ordinator will be accountable to the EIFA Executive. The co-ordinator will also require to report to the EIFA board and to respond to members enquiries where appropriate.
Salary and Hours of Work
The salary for the position, which is for a fixed term contract of 9 months, £27,300 pa FTE pro rata for 7.5 hrs at £15 per hour.
To be paid to the post-holder monthly on or before the last banking day of the month. The post-holder will work an average of 7.5 hours a week over the course of their employment but the pattern of work will involve occasional irregular hours.
It is the post-holder’s responsibility in conjunction with the EIFA Executive Director to ensure that they manage their time over the term of their employment in order to allocate sufficient time to fulfill their duties, bearing in mind that the demands will vary over the course of their contract. The post-holder will be required to prioritize key areas of work.
Location
This is not an office based project due to the nature of the post. However, the Project Co-coordinator’s will have access to our office at 18 West Mayfield, Edinburgh.
Holidays
The EIFA leave year runs from the 1st of April to the 31st of March. The post holder is entitled to 7 days leave during the 6months of their contract. This is inclusive of statutory
/ local holidays as agreed annually by the EIFA General Secretary.
