**Senior Technical Consultant**

**Remote/London**

**£55,000 - 69,000 + benefits**

Leading professional services firm is actively recruiting for an experienced Senior Technical Consultant / IT Systems Manager to work across the Technology Consulting and Technology Support Service, providing IT infrastructure technology consulting, technicalproject delivery and support to clients.

**The successful Senior Technical Consultant / IT Systems Manager will**
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for a variety of IT infrastructure and IT security related projects undertaken on behalf of internal and external clients. This will include leadership/management of a small team of 2nd line engineers and 3rd partysupport handled by vendors.
- Lead the design, implementation, management, and support of technical solutions.
- Interact with senior internal and external management to analyse and document requirements, present solutions, and provide implementation and service delivery updates.
- Establish solution costs and provide input into proposed fees.
- Prepare written technical solution proposals.
- Source and manage project staff as required.
- Ensure technical solutions and related processes are fully documented and provide internal/external training where appropriate.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current and new technologies sufficient to provide clients with strategic IT advice.
- Work with the senior helpdesk team to manage the IT Management & Support service for clients.

**Essential experience for the position of Senior Technical Consultant / IT Systems Manager**
- Likely to have experience at IT Manager level, with full responsibility for all the IT infrastructure within an organisation.
- Used to working in a structured and methodical manner.
- Comfortable communicating with client staff and colleagues at all levels.
- Capable of expressing recommendations under scrutiny and explaining them if challenged.
- Able to undertake occasional business travel in the UK and overseas.

**Technical requirements and professional qualifications**:

- Windows Server, SQL Server & Microsoft Exchange implementation, and support experience (all current versions).
- Windows implementation and support experience (all current versions).
- Microsoft 365 implementation and support experience.
- Hands on experience of virtualisation technologies.
- Hands on experience of cloud technologies (MS Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Hands on experience of configuring IT security infrastructure (anti-virus/malware, firewalls etc.).
- Proven people management experience. Sourcing and managing IT staff for projects and BAU.
- Operational service support leadership experience.
- ITIL Certifications (desirable).
- Prince II or other project management skills/certification (desirable).
- Hands on knowledge of databases and scripting or other software development experience (desirable).
