We are currently assisting this prestigious IT organisation in the recruitment of a number of Unix/Linux Engineers to join the Server support team. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of large-scale enterprise servers.Our client offers excellent opportunities for training and career progression.
Role overview:
- Proactively maintaining and developing all Linux infrastructure to maintain 24/7 uptime service
- Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for project and operational needs
- Fault finding, analysis of logging information for performance reporting
- Implementing software upgrades, patches, hot fixes on servers, workstations and network hardware
**Requirements**:
- Linux Administrator experience
- Deep knowledge of Linux RedHat and SUSE
- VMware and SAN management and concepts
- HP UX, IBM AIX and Solaris knowledge (desirable)
- Clustering, Docker or Kubernetes (desirable)
- Shell, Python or Ansible scripting (desirable)
You will be required to work to a shift pattern that spans 08:00 - 18:00. There is also a requirement for on-call support and occasional out of hours work. You will be able to work remotely, but there is an expectation to come in on site occasionally as needed.
