Head of Commercial Planning

This is a key role within the Commercial Leadership Team, requiring substantial internal and external stakeholder management in order to integrate commercial, business, and delivery plans. Operating as an internal consultant, you will work in a complex matrix structure in a role that is pivotal in the delivery of c£3bn of revenue per annum. _

**SUMMARY OF ROLE**

The Head of Commercial Planning (closing date 10th January) is a member of the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT). The role has three key functions: functional planning & governance, high performing capital investment programme, and bringing the plan to life. The role is pivotal in the delivery of ~£3B of revenue p.a. and ensuring a strong revenue growth trajectory in future years. The role collaborates at senior level to ensure an aligned approach to the delivery of Heathrow’s H7 business plans.

The role leads Commercial Planning, ensuring integration of annual Management Business Plan with Commercial Capital Plan, Plan on a Page, and integrated functional delivery plans. It leads the Commercial Capital Governance Group (Sub-Committee of the Heathrow Investment Committee) on behalf of the CCO and acts as a super sponsor on behalf of the CCO for the Commercial Capital Programme (£700m capital for H7 period). The role requires extensive management of cross-functional ‘virtual teams’ and very strong communication and stakeholder management skills, in order to inspire commercial teams and influence at Exec level across HAL and wider ‘Team Heathrow’ organisations.

**Your role will involve**:

- Leading Commercial Planning, ensuring integration of annual Management Business Plan with Commercial Capital Plan, Plan on a Page, & integrated functional delivery plans. Championing / sponsoring the smooth implementation of Commercial's plan into delivery and results. Teaming up with CLT and their leadership teams where support is required to deliver to plan. Working with CCO & CLT on Commercial & Functional strategies to maximise revenues, profitability, sustainability and wider business outcomes. Taking the lead on behalf of the CCO in ensuring high standards of governance across Commercial including: risk, self-assurance, audits, delegated authorities, continuity of service plans, commercial policies, commercial decision making, CLT ways of working, mandatory training etc.
- Leading the Commercial Capital Governance Group (Sub-Committee of the Heathrow Investment Committee) on behalf of the CCO. Acting as a super sponsor on behalf of the CCO for the Commercial Capital Programme (£700m capital for H7 period). Championing & leading timely progression of Commercial Business Cases through the Gateway process. Providing hands-on business case development expertise for the larger / more complex commercial investments.
- Owning the 'Growth' CLT agenda & plan quarterly CLT planning / team days in conjunction with CCO.
- Taking the lead on business case development for new business activities where these sit beyond the remits of existing commercial functions. Partnering with Corporate strategy team on more strategic developments where appropriate.
- Extensive management of cross-functional ‘virtual teams’ and very strong communication and stakeholder management skills in order to influence at Exec level across HAL and wider ‘Team Heathrow’ organisations.

- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, leadership, and a proven ability to deliver through others.
