Senior Development Engineer

As the **Senior Development Engineer** you will be responsible for delivering strategic growth for the facility with the introduction and development of new hydraulic and mechanical assemblies, including the support and development for legacyhydraulic and mechanical assemblies, expanding capability to meet the business and customer needs. Ensure all Engineering requirements are understood and flowed down to all interested parties, ensure the required and competent resources are available and understood,both in human resource, associated tooling, and costings for the project, to produce concise and detailed risk assessments that enable the most efficient and documented product hand over to the workshop. Acting as the technical lead for issue escalation relatingto product development for analysis, bid, contract and production readiness reviews, risk analysis, procurement and quality queries relating to initial product development and introduction. Supporting customer technical requirements through workshops, customermeetings and visits to customer locations.
- Responsible for delivering strategic growth for the Ramsgate facility with the introduction and development of new hydraulic and mechanical assemblies.
- Support and development for legacy hydraulic and mechanical assemblies.
- Creation of project management plans, creating value for the organisation and customer through innovative and efficient assembly development. Working with suppliers and contractors to ensure the correct processes are in place to support the introductionor change of an assembly.
- Responsible for the delivery of projects working with cross-functional teams to deliver defined requirements in accordance with key milestones or project development gateways.
- Responsible for the management of scope, timelines, budget, quality, and resourcing need identification to ensure project success as determined by the business and customer.
- Creation of all required development and workshop documents to enable the successful overhaul or repair of newly introduced or developed assemblies for the business.
- Ensure all product and process risks are identified early in the development or change process.
- During the development cycle, identify all required machinery, tooling, jigs and fixtures, spares, and equipment to support the workshop overhaul and repair requirements.
- Undertake technical evaluation of hydraulic, pneumatic & electro / mechanical aircraft components and associated systems to deliver engineering solutions to the workshop.
- Identify, negotiate, and engage with suppliers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget.
To be successful in this role of **Senior Development Engineer** we would love to speak to anyone who has experience of:
- Engineering HNC/HND qualification or equivalent (essential)
- Qualification in Aeronautical Engineering (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills, conveying accurate and concise information at all levels
- Well-versed in relevant software (e.g., CAD, MS Office, MS Project)
- Minimum 5-10 years, proven relevant experience working within an engineering role
- Experience working with hydraulic and mechanical assemblies (essential)
- Experience of building and designing test rigs, tooling and jig, and fixtures (desirable).
- Demonstrated ability of interpreting technical drawings and documents (essential)
- Excellent Project management skills.
- Excellent Problem-solving experience
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCA), and / or Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
