PMVA Senior/Specialist Tutor & Team Leader (Band 6)
A vacancy has become available for a PMVA Senior/Specialist Tutor, working as part of the existing team of full-time PMVA Instructors in the PMVA department, Emerson Training Centre, Ealing.
Applicants must meet the criterion as defined within the West London NHS Trusts’ Professional Code of Practice (PCP) for PMVA Senior / Specialist Tutors.
Applicants must be practicing PMVA tutors, able to deliver all West London NHS Trusts’ PMVA teaching programmes, as well as experienced team leaders able to teach, develop, support and supervise other instructors.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Forensic and Local & Specialist Services, having a sound clinical knowledge of the needs and requirements of our patient & staff populations.
Also the successful applicant must have knowledge of national legislation and guidance in relation to violence reduction and the reduction of restrictive practices.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the required level of skills, knowledge and experience to manage the day to day planning, preparation and delivery of the PMVA training programme as well as working alongside our service users and multi-disciplinary teams within the clinical areas to assist with the development of proactive strategies & interventions to reduce violence, aggression and restrictive practices.
This role will require specialist personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge & experience, and involve on-call duties as an PPE advisor.
Essential to this role is the ability to preserve the respect and dignity of service users and staff in relation to all aspects of PMVA & PPE interventions, acting as an ambassador for our service and organisation.
Applicants must have a good level of physical fitness & good attendance record.
The successful applicant must be prepared to travel as part of the role.
