We are looking to appoint an Inspection Officer to join our established team responsible for delivering high quality, credible and timely inspections, audits and service reviews. You will deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate real value to front line services through inspection activities. You will facilitate the conduct of inspections by outside bodies to ensure the compliance and integrity of the process on behalf of Chief Officers and the OPFCC.
As an Inspection Officer you will:
- Work independently to develop the client brief and implement plans using a variety of research methods
- Be responsible for the joint planning and delivery of a programme of internal inspections on behalf of senior clients and turn these inspections into recommendations for improvement and the sharing of best practice
- Deliver high quality, timely audits and work to regulatory compliance
- Build relationships with clients to provide an effective link between inspectorate and frontline service delivery to assure that the organisational translation between senior leaders and front lines services is effective
- Support the development and understanding of clients around the benefits of inspection and assurance to improve business processes and operational delivery
- Develop strategic position papers and deliver briefings and presentations to senior clients on HMICFRS inspection findings and/or pre inspection activity as directed by the line management
- Work to the service catalogue to deliver client led service review and assurance requirements
**The successful applicant will**:
- Be able to demonstrate experience of auditing against the International Organisation for Standardisation requirements or working with statutory inspection bodies around inspection activity
- Have experience of delivering clear, concise, effective reports and presentations
- Show ability to evidence critical thinking, planning, research and analysis (including data)
- Be an effective communicator and have the confidence to present to a range of stakeholders and audiences
- Have experience of using relevant IT packages e.g. Microsoft Office.
