Head of Production

We're looking a new Head of Production to lead of Print function. A key member of the Supply Chain senior leadership team you’ll lead the UK manufacturing, production and print function. Developing and delivering our roll wrap Manufacturing strategy from long term capacity planning through to the manufacture of finished goods. You'll also lead the continuous improvements across your area of responsibility to support Hallmark’s strategy to be the number one choice for customers in the UK.

Your main responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Developing and translating strategic objectives for UK production into tangible operational plans to deliver commercial and quality objectives
- Partner with wider business, as our production/print technical expert, to feed in to planning, decision making and roadmap planning
- Ensuring all manufacturing plans and progress updates are published accurately and on time to relevant business areas and any risks are mitigated and escalated where required
- Manufacturing products on time, within quality standards and to cost targets through implementing operational excellence and effective collaboration with other departments
- Planning and allocation of required labour resource to deliver manufacturing plans in line with budget
- Lead a Health and Safety always approach across all areas of responsibility
- Management and development of all manufacturing processes ensuring full documentation in line with company policy
- Support and work collaboratively with suppliers, technical and product areas to develop new products and processes to gain competitive edge
- Own the continuous improvement and development of the Production including the team, equipment, ways of working etc

A brand new role at Hallmark, we're looking to you to take our production to the next level. A hands on role, you'll need to be resourceful and draw upon your experience gathered from your lived print experience. To be successful you will need:

- Proven experience in a similar role, with solid technical understanding of the print process ideally flexographic printing
- Practical experience of the print process, would be a significant advanatge
- Previous experience of successfully translating strategic objectives into operational plans, KPI’s and objectives across health and safety, quality and cost
- Experience of working with cross functional teams and 3rd parties, to deliver operational and commercial objectives quality and cost targets, seamlessly adjusting your style to achieve objectives and embed a positive culture and engagement
- Abreast of micro and macro influences across the print, sustainability, manufacturing and retail industries evidence in your decision making process
- Solid understanding and experience of continuous improvement through embedding lean techniques and process improvement mythologies with manufacturing teams and ideally cross functionally
- Strategic thinker with a curious mind and high attention to detail
- Experience as the go to technical expert across manufacturing, print and production
- Strong data analysis, report writing and presentation skills, confidently using software and systems such as Office
- Good financial acumen
- Strong, passionate and motivational leadership skills with the ability to build a culture of success
- Ability to manage complex projects and proactively address issues
- Solid track record of delivering a Health and Safety first working environment
