**Functional Skills Tutor - English/Maths - Salary £18,525 - £25,000**

This position is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week based in Middleton, Greater Manchester.

**The Role**

Your main purpose is to work within the Employability/Job Gym Department, delivering various course qualifications, creating individual learning plans, and reviewing learner progress throughout their programme.

You will be required to inspire a wide range of learners in cohorts at our learning centres, in the workplace, at customer’s locations across the Northwest and remotely using both online and offline skills support materials.

**Role Requirements**

**Delivery**
- Deliver and assess the following courses but not limited to:

- Maths
- English
- Any additional courses that arise that meet your skills and experience
- Provide learners with information advice and guidance regarding appropriateness of courses and establish records and learning goals suited to the learner’s needs
- Induct learners into the learning environment, courses, and systems where appropriate.
- Work with the Product and Development team to develop programmes within your department.
- Promote Functional Skills learning in a manner that it becomes an activity valued by the employers and learners we work with.
- Promote Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values in your sessions.
- Be prepared to travel and work flexibly in providing support for learners across the Northwest.

**Support and Development**
- Support the Job Gym team on the Information, Advice and Guidance Open days
- Support departmental management in ensuring that the department is working to funding targets.
- Develop and maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary Skills for Life development theory and methods.
- Develop activities to meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for quality management.

**Other**
- Undergo personal development to maintain and develop skills relevant to the job role and as required by contracts for funded learning.
- To assist with preparation of Reviews and accreditation visits
- Any other duties as requested by management

**Job requirements**

**Skills and Qualifications**
- English and Math’s qualifications at L2 or above
- Achieved or currently working towards a Level 3/4 Subject Support Tutor in Literacy and/or Numeracy
- L5 Teaching Qualification (Desirable)
- Advice and Guidance L3 or above (Desirable)
