**Timber & Builders Merchant**

**Yard Operative**

Hours - Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm plus every 2nd Saturday 8:00am to 12noon

This is a key role serving customers and dealing with goods in promptly, it is a busy and varied job, and every day can be different. The successful applicant will have excellent customer care, solid knowledge of products sold by a Timber and Builders Merchants and able to work as part of team or using their own initiative. Salary dependent on experience and age.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Assisting customers with their orders
- Providing excellent customer service
- Picking and checking orders
- Maintaining a tidy and safe working environment. Unloading vehicles, check materials against documentation, and store material according to agreed processes
- Loading vehicles, checking materials against relevant documentation, according to agreed processes
- Loading may be by hand or using a forklift truck
- Reporting high or low stock holdings to Procurement team

**Experience**:

- Forklift Truck Drivers: 1 year (preferred)
- working in a Merchants warehouse/yard: 1 year (preferred)
