Family Intervention Worker
We are looking for an experienced mental health professional with a background in nursing, social work or occupational therapy and experience of offering structured family interventions to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team.
This is a new 0.6 wte post to enhance the offer of NICE-concordant family interventions within the team.
We have a reputation for being a supportive and passionate team with clear values focused on recovery. We have a strong emphasis on psychosocial and psychological interventions with a number of psychological therapists working as part of the multi-disciplinary team and a number of professionals trained in the delivery of family interventions and with a strong focus on supportive supervision and ongoing continuing professional development.
The post-holder will be based in Sale, Trafford and see people throughout the borough, in their own homes, various community settings or via remote technologies.
The post holder will co-work closely with other staff to deliver family interventions and alongside a clinical psychologist to deliver supervision and ongoing training to maintain these skills in new team members. You will receive training in the training and supervision of others in family intervention if you have not previously done so, and will receive ongoing peer supervision from a trust wide group of experienced BFT practitioners and trainers.
You will also be involved in the provision and development of other aspects of family and carer support within the team. You will deliver group based psychoeducation groups to friends and family of service users and will coordinate interventions and assessments with local carer’s services. You will have the opportunity to work as a ‘carer champion’ for the service and to link in with trust carer leads to develop resources and interventions for friends and families.
We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in working with this client group and their families. The post-holder will primarily provide behavioural family interventions to service users and their families. The post holder will attend team meetings to promote a family centred perspective within the team and to promote the importance of such work.
