The Health & Safety Advisor will act as the Arcadis focal point in the role of Client Health and Safety Consultant under the for Capital Projects, on a wide variety of projects throughout the project management lifecycle. The portfolio of projects includes engineering infrastructure, office/laboratory/pilot plant new builds and refurbishment projects.

Role description:
The Health & Safety Advisor will act as the Arcadis focal point in the role of Client Health and Safety Consultant under the for Capital Projects, on a wide variety of projects throughout the project management lifecycle. The portfolio of projects includes engineering infrastructure, office/laboratory/pilot plant new builds and refurbishment projects.

Role accountabilities:

- Support Project Engineer Team with H+S guidance (Risk Assessment Guidance/ Review)
- Conduct Permit to Work Daily Check
- Review in Proactive manner forthcoming Permits and coach Project Engineers
- Support/ Conduct Monthly inspections with regards to Site Monthly inspection target
- Attend meeting and provide project/ site EHS support
- Attend Construction sites and report near misses/ good practices
- Act as Health and Safety Focal Point for Site Projects
- Be aware of role of Site Health and Safety Champion and behave according developing Positive attitude at all times
- Closely work with Site teams to resolve Health & Safety issues and ensure problems are resolved playing an enabler role
- Engaging Contractors in positive manner on site where necessary using Stop Work Authority
- Maintain awareness of current and future client specific operating procedures, regulations and monitor projects for their compliance.
- Carry out safety inspections and audits (logging results with the established database) at intervals to be agreed on projects during the ‘construction phase’
- Facilitate EH&S review process on behalf of the Project Manager at the four key stages (including lessons learnt).
- Enter near misses onto a client database and follow up any requirement for further investigation to be carried out.
- Identify and analyse trends from injury and near miss reporting
- Produce regular safety bulletins for distribution amongst the team and the contractor database.
- Support and fulfil obligations, duties and roles under CDM
- Facilitate Competency checks on all contractors and designers and enter information onto the client database
- Maintain up to date Monthly Reports
- Liaises with the Leadership Team and Project Support Group to ensure appropriate support in place to enable successful delivery

Qualifications & Experience:

- NEBOSH General or NEBOSH Construction or Diploma in H&S
- IOSH membership
