**Job Summary**
**Main Duties & Responsibilities**
- To provide an efficient service to patients/residents, understanding their needs and requirements, providing a variety of nutritious meals under hygienic conditions.
- To assist the Head Cook/Chef to plan food requirements and menus for the Home, offering choices that acknowledge patients’ tastes and dietary requirements and ensuring a balanced diet.
- To prepare and cook foods according to the established menu.
- To assist in the management of stocks of both food and non-food items:
- To prepare orders for suppliers.
- To ensure that foodstuffs are used within date specifications.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers/reps.
- To provide cakes and other “special” items as requested (i.e. for patient birthdays).
- To supervise other staff using or assisting in the kitchen.
- To clean or supervise the cleaning of all areas and equipment in the kitchen.
- To demonstrate a real passion for cooking and catering service.

**Salary**: £12.55 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
