Infrastructure Engineer
Birmingham - Hybrid office / WFH
Salary circa £35k + benefits
We are working with a leading multinational IT Services Consultancy who are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to join their Growing team.
The purpose of the role is to provide BAU operational support across a wide range of customer infrastructure - this will include health checks, managing incidents, requests and changes and ensuring that SLA's are maintained.
Duties overview:

- Supporting the managed services team in the troubleshooting of incidents within customer environments.
- Managing incidents and problems appropriately within agreed service levels.
- Assist in technical root cause analysis on reoccurring incidents or major incidents.
- Ensure that customer environments adhere to established standards and frameworks
- Ensure technical documentation is completed and updated to professional standards.
- Proactive management of customer environments, identifying potential improvements to deliver increased stability, availability and performance.
- Delivery of project-related tasks such as the installation and configuration of new equipment.
Skills / experience
- Experience within a similar Infrastructure Support / Engineer role or a strong background in EUC support
- Some technical knowledge of Microsoft Server, VMware, Hyper-V and Public Cloud (Azure) technologies gained in a hands-on technical support role,
- Exposure to IT Infrastructure technologies in enterprise-level deployments desirable
- Any experience of the following would be an advantage - O365, Exchange, VDI, Unix/Linux or Enterprise Backup and Storage platforms would
- Experience in creating or modifying scripts (Powershell, etc) desirable
- The ability to troubleshoot incidents and problems
- Happy to provide out-of-hours support as required or on a rota basis.
- Any certification from major vendors (Microsoft, VMware etc.) is desirable.
- ITIL certification or experience of working within ITIL environment an advantage
